Not Much Northeast of Hartford Dec 28, 2011
By Pippi If you live east of Hartford (I live in Glastonbury) and you're looking for a few hikes that won't empty your gas tank - I wouldn't recommend this book. There is nothing listed for my surrounding area and Gay City State Park is about 20 minutes from my house. Blackledge Falls is lovely though admittedly quite a short hike (I can make it about an hour) and is not mentioned nor the Shenipsit trail. The mid-to northwest area of the CT map is pretty empty (and it's not bereft of possibilities although maybe they're not the 50 Best, according to the author).
