Blows other books out of the ballpark! LOVE the new binding too :-) Jul 22, 2008
By A Big Fan of Theirs! Backcountry Adventures Colorado (Backcountry Adventures)These books are just too cool for words! I love that the authors include so many (hundreds!) of color photos so you can get a good idea of the various trails. You also get to see old historical photos of what the old ghost towns you come across used to look like! OMG, this is like the total package for planning a vacation or an afternoon out on the trail! I would definitely recommend this book. I've been using mine since it became available on Amazon and it is rugged and the binding is fine. I am not sure why that other reviewer said the binding is weak because this hardcover is totally awesome! It beats any of the other off road guides and this one is totally user-friendly. Whether you have an SUV, a 4x4, or a car and want to find some great trails in Arizona's backcountry and learn some cool facts along the way, this is the greatest book to use! Don't leave home without it!!

Content Great, Pages Fall Out Aug 14, 2009
By GinAZ The content of this book is excellent. My son has it in soft cover and we have used it on a number of 4x4 outings. The GPS coordinates are good and descriptions accurate. Occasionally it is difficult to determine which fork to take but that is rare. However, the first time I browsed through my book the pages started to fall out. The binding just didn't hold the pages. Purchase the soft cover version which I would rate as 5 stars, not the hard cover one. I didn't have occasion to browse it until after the full return time limit had passed and I can find no way to even make a comment about it to Amazon.

Best book out there! Backcountry Adventures Arizona! Jan 13, 2009
By C. Nelson Friends of ours own this book, and have taken us into some very remote and challenging places to 4 wheel. For Christmas, I purchased two of these books for family members. We have tried 3 trails since Christmas and the book delivers what it promises! Awesome offroad sites to see, with odometer markings and GPS. Want to see the REAL Arizona? Get a 4 Wheel and get this book. You won't be disappointed.
Great reference book Apr 01, 2011
By LisaS Book is full of useful information if you like to jeep through the back areas of Arizona. My only complaint is the book is so big and heavy that it wouldn't be handy to take with you on a plane or even jeeping. Great pictures!
Great Book...for a week or so!! Jun 16, 2010

This book has great content. It is hardcover. I also have the softcover books for southern california and utah. The softcovers have served me well, but this hardcover has HORRIBLE BINDING! I bought it for a vacation, and it was broken down less than one week into the vacation. I intend to see if Amazon will stand behind their products. I will then look for it in softcover. If you can't find it in softcover and want it anyway, be sure to have a paper bag handy to carry the pages around in. Again, the content is very good, but what good is it if it won't stay together?
