Fun, useful, and, usable, despite the typos Jul 06, 2009

This book is absolutely riddled with typos in the English text; not mistakes by an English-language learner but mistakes by a lazy copy editor. Even still, there is plenty of information about Rioplatense Spanish usage and slang, and some interesting cultural sidenotes.
Argentine Yiddish Feb 09, 2012

My 99 year old grandmother speaks yiddish, and I thought Yiddish had more interesting sayings than any other language until I came across this book. I had no idea that argentinians were so expressive and hilarious. Similarly to Yiddish, a literal translation of words does not do the meaning justice. This book by James bracken gives both the literal meanings of expressions, and the hilarious and profound meanings behind the meanings. Highly recommend it
For those who want to speak localismos. Feb 05, 2012
By TGurley This book is great for those wanting to travel to Argentina (specifically BsAs). !Che Boludo! includes a great deal of the local Argentine slang and other "colorful" phrases that they just don't teach you in Spanish class.
A great resource if planning on studying abroad or expatriating. If nothing else, a humorous reference guide for you and your Spanish-speaking buddies.
Fantastic Oct 10, 2011
By Carla This book is absolutely fantastic. I am planning on spending a few months in Argentina next year and wanted to learn some lingo to impress my family over there. My parents, who are both Argentinians, were in stitches laughing when I started repeating lines from the book. They said it was absolutely spot on and that the phrases are still used everyday. The hand actions are great too!
