Nothing new Mar 23, 2007
By Mother of three This book offers little more than a condensed version of their regular guide book and doesn't add any new kid specific suggestions.
The perfect take-along-book while visiting London with kids! Aug 20, 2010
By blessedtimes3 This book ended up being my reference, guideline, and activity planner while my family and I spent 6 weeks in London. My kids are ages 9, 6, and 4 so it was especially important for us to enjoy all that London has to offer...from a child's perspective!
What I loved about this book is it highlighted 68 places to go and things to see and do in and around London that have been tried and tested by parents and kids alike. Each of these things we tried out turned out to be a wonderful experience! Each place to go/thing to do was it's own two pages--most was a discription about the attraction and then a little "Hey, Kids!" box was added for each attraction as well--sometimes a fun fact for the kids, other times something to make your time there easier or better. Each place to go/thing to do page also listed child-friendly eateries nearby as well as the nearest Tube/Train/Bus (this came in VERY handy!) and the cost to get in as well as the hours (although double check online--we were quite surprised when we showed up at Madame Tussaud's expecting to pay the 16 Pound fee when in the meantime it nearly doubled!) I carried the book with me (it's small enough to take along) whenever we'd go out. I let my oldest daughter read about where we were going to give her a "head start" on what to expect. I wish Fodor's would make this for EVERY city and destination! This is a GREAT book that I highly recommend. It made our time here in London/Windsor very enjoyable, fun, and educational!
