Angela Taylor owes her life to the Texas Ranger who rescued her from a band of no-good renegades. The problem is that he'd pulled her out of danger--and straight into the twentieth century. Now Angela's as far from Texas, 1864, as she could be, stuck with a disbelieving man too handsome from her own good.

She's either a woman out of time...or completely out of her mind. Dallas Masterson isn't sure what to believe. From her crazy clothes to her feisty ways, he's almost convinced that this sassy, smart-mouthed woman fought Comanches, buried her fiance, ran from the law and stole to survive...especially when she steals his horse to try and get back to the cave where he found her.

Now, both Angela and Dallas are discovering that when it comes to things like the past--and falling in love--there's no place to go but the future.

3Good Read!  Jun 19, 2000 By Nancy Engler
If you liked the Hawk's Way series, you will like this story. The time traveling heroine, seeking revenge against the murdering bank robber, is shocked to find herself rescued into the future. You also get to meet Honey Farrell, the heroine of (Honet And The Hired Hand) and Adam Philips of The Rancher And The Runaway Bride. It is a re-releace, that starts the whole of the Hawks' Way series.

3It could have been better.  Oct 01, 2000 By Misti
I thought this books was ok. Not the best I've ever read but pretty good. The character's needed to be a little less hormonal and a little more....how should I say it...human I guess. More down to earth. Dallas seems to be living in the past but he's really in the future. That was a big dislike. Angela starts off as an innocent but suddenly she's kissing a total stranger she's never seen?? I gave it a three.

4Synopsis  Oct 20, 2007 By LINDA Riley
NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT

HER PAST WAS A MYSTERY: Although Texas in 1864 was no place for a lone lady traveler, feisty Angela Taylor had to get to San Antonio. She could outsmart any outlaw, so she wasn't afraid when a bunch of no-good cowboys surrounded her. But she owes her life to the Texas Ranger who rescued her from that band of renegades. The problem is that he'd pulled her out of danger -- and straight into the twentieth century. Now Angela's as far from Texas, 1864, as she could be, stuck with a disbelieving man too handsome for her own good.

BUT WAS HER FUTURE HIS TO CLAIM? She's either a woman out of time... or completely out of her mind. Dallas Masterson isn't sure what to believe. From her crazy clothes to her feisty ways, he's almost convinced that this sassy, smart-mouthed woman fought Comanches, buried her fiancé, ran from the law and stole to survive... especially when she steals his horse to try to get back to the cave where he found her. Now, both Angela and Dallas are discovering that when it comes to things like the past -- and falling in love -- there's no place to go but the future.

2Concept gets a minus ...  Apr 29, 2012 By New Englander 5 "5GK"
Although the concept gets a minus I'll pass on that in this review and go straight to the story. I simply couldn't get into it. I would have more appreciated a detail description of Angel getting into the present and conversely put him for a prologue period in the pass and having Dallas made to live without the conveniences he'd come to know.

Trying to figure out what I knew about each of them was she was left with her sister, blamed for stealing something to eat and was stuck in a dark place for a day making her afraid of the dark, while even though he also had his mother walk out on him they each reacted to that event very differently and that's as far as it went. If this book is a sample of Ms. Johnston's style of writing I am not impressed with that either.

4What a pleasant surprise!  Mar 03, 2012 By KayLovesToRead
A Little Time in Texas by Joan Johnston
Silhouette Desire #710 ~ May 1992

Time travel in a Silhouette Desire, who knew?! What a pleasant surprise. This is my first read by Joan Johnston. This is her prequel to her popular Hawk's Way series. Dallas and Angel make a great couple. He's the dashing Texas Ranger who whisks her out of danger, and she's the fiesty not to be tamed woman who steals his heart. Well worth the read!
