The Perfect Companion in London Jan 24, 2009
By I. Mansel Few places in the world have so many little nooks and crannies to discover as London, so a pocket-sized journal that allows YOU to make a personalized record of your time there is worth every penny. It won't tell you WHERE to go, but rather how to get around. I bought this journal after having lived in London for several months. My only regret is not purchasing it sooner. It's become a favorite possession of mine and a tradition! Whenever I'm traveling to a new city, I check to see if a Moleskine City Guide is available. My goal is to have a collection of my travel journals on my coffee table for friends and family to enjoy for years to come. Can your other travel guide books do that? : )

Very Cool Gift May 30, 2008
By Jimmy Cooper III I picked this up for a dear friend who lived in London while attending LSE and has nothing but fond memories. They have EU and USA cities--it's not a Lonely Planet type guide full of places and ideas--this one has maps, street indices and Tube stops for where you might wander, but leaves the driving (and writing) to you. I have owned Moleskine journals for years and this series lives up to the history.

Should more properly be called "Central London" Jan 19, 2010
By alyxandr If you should ever get more than about halfway into transit zone 2, you're out of luck, map-wise. And they only show the major roads, so it isn't a replacement for your trusty A-Z -- which makes the map section pretty much moot.
The rest of it is as advertised, although less contacts & more calendaring would have been nice, IMHO.

Moleskine city books are the best Oct 15, 2009
By Elizabeth K. Buice
"the shrewd wanderer"
As an avid wanderer and travel journalist, I am officially addicted to the Moleskine city books. I believe that this was my third purchase. Now, unless you have navigated a city approximately 30 times, this tiny little piece of organizational gold does not replace the need for your beloved Frommers, Lonely Planet, or Rick Steve's guide. But what it does do, is allow you to place entries on the things that you find worthwhile and will eventually allow you to leave the 20 pound guidebook at home.

Fantastic addition to my trip!! Aug 08, 2009
By K. Bluff Having used and loved the Washington DC Moleskine last year for a trip, I was excited to get the London Moleskine for a recent trip to that city, and I wasn't disappointed. The Tube map was infinitely helpful, and the city maps were quite comprehensive. They didn't have every single street, but they had just enough detail to get me where I was going without difficulty. The blank pages were perfect for a trip journal, and I used the pages with the boxes for addresses for postcards and other things I wanted to remember. As the trip was only a week, I didn't even come close to filling it up, but that just leaves room for future trips.
My only suggestion to Moleskine? Have a preprinted area for the user to write in a currency conversion chart. I wrote in my own on the inside front cover, but since they have preprinted areas for other things, I thought this would be handy.
I love these notebooks--in addition to the DC one and the London one, I also bought the Amsterdam one for a trip there (see that review) and I bought the Rome one for a trip there in the fall. Good stuff. :-)
