Good Book from few options Apr 28, 2008
By Warren T. Hitchcock The book overall is good, with great photos. However there are very few quality books to choose from on Peru, and this book could be updated with more current info and photos.

I ordered this book for my son, who studied about Peru in 8th grade last year and couldn't learn enough about Machu Picchu. He loved it and looks at often. I liked it, too.

There are few nice travel picture books on Peru that show the entire country (not just Machu Picchu or another specific site). While not extensive, this book has great photos. I gave it to someone prior to a trip to Peru and she loved it!

PERU (Exploring Cuontries of the World) is a very pleasant book of photographs and some written description and other information. It is pleasant to look at and read, but not as informative as I would have liked.

Peru and ancient civilization will teach readers not about the country itself but it will transfer you to a country that is full of an ancient inca history, the urban cites, and show you a different life style.
