5Great Guide  Aug 29, 2010
Easy to use and well organized guide. Contains detailed maps in the back and a separate map of SF transportation system. All the attractions are organized in an area by area sections, which makes it easy to plan your days.

4San Francisco and Northern California  May 09, 2010
I always use this series of books for my travels. They couldn't be more helpful. I felt this one was a little light on the Northern California information.... Perhaps that is all there is. I'll have an idea after my trip.

5San Francisco first timers  May 31, 2009
This book contained many options for a person not familiar with the San Francisco area. It was very helpful for us when making decisions about what to see and where to go.

5San Francisco (and more) at your fingertips  Mar 20, 2009
Like the many other volumes in the DK Eyewitness series that I have taken to cities here and abroad, this guide is compact and very easy to use. Maps are clear and supplemented with "3-D" drawings of prominent areas and famous neighborhoods. Descriptions of museums, architectural features, points of historical importance are accurate and usually accompanied with maps highlighting notable items. In addition, the guide gives plenty of details about the Bay Area and territory north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Historical notes and practical info on transportation, food, shopping are nicely illustrated (often with vintage photos and good charts) and meet the high standard of this series. Best to check on-line, however, for latest info on hours of stores, museums, entrance fees, special exhibits.

5Great San Francisco guidebook!  Jan 08, 2009
I just moved into Oakland, and was about to host several visiting family members. This book does a great job of succinctly touching all the major San Francisco attractions - most with pictures - and it's restaurants and places to see pointers are great! Highly recommended!
