People in their millions flock to London every year to attend its theatres. The theatres themselves, as distinct from their entertainments are the object of much devotion. From the classical grandeur of Drury Lane to the functional modernism of the National Theatre, this book tours theatreland.

A must-have for any theater lover Aug 05, 1998 A friend of mine lent this book to me for my Web site on the theater career of actor Alan Rickman. I found it indispensible for my research and an enjoyable read. It is fully indexed and illustrated, and since I have read only the original version, I'm sure the updated one is even better.
