If you have ever read a TimeOut book before you know what to expect and the TimeOut Rio was in line with all the other TimeOut books I've looked at before. Very good information. Has something regarding just about everything. Goes in depth on some things more then others, that is why TimeOut Books are even better when utilized with one other travel book such as Frommer's or Lonely Planet. If you were to rely on a single travel book, this one would suffice but again would recommend getting a second travel book to go along with it.

I know Brazilian culture well and this guide is still great in providing places to go out in Rio and mingle and mix with "cariocas". It helps both the ones coming for the first time, as the ones looking to explore a little bit more.
Great ideas for places to go for home cooked and also more exotic type of foods.
Provides help in finding places with beautiful landscape, with good music and places to relax and to have fun.
It provides guidance to going out in all the neighborhoods that are worth exploring in Rio. I'll probably buy a new edition when I go back to Rio.

I literally got very similar information from an advertisers hand out at the Rio airport then I did this book. There are better travel guides out there specific to Rio.
